The Usha Kiran Foundation, named in honor of my grandaunt, Mrs. Usha Apte, carries the essence of her name. Usha means "sun," and Kiran means "ray of light." Just as the sun provides warmth and sustenance, and its rays bring light and hope, so too does this foundation strive to bring hope and healing to those in need. My grandaunt was a woman of boldness, compassion, and unwavering commitment to helping others. After her passing, she entrusted me with a financial legacy, and I have chosen to carry her spirit of giving forward by creating this foundation.
